Chris Aigbovbiosa-Ogiemwonyi Is Edo Governorship APC Aspirant

Preparations for the 2016 governorship election in Edo State is gathering steam as more and more aspirants have continued to show interest.Engr. (Dr.) Chris Aigbovbiosa Ogiemwonyi, erstwhile minister of state for works is one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Edo State. 64-year-old Ogiemwonyi is the ex-husband of Senator Stella Oduah, former Aviation Minister, now serving as a federal lawmaker representing Anambra North Senatorial District in the Senate on the platform of the People's Democratic Party(PDP).


Ogiemwonyi was appointed minister of state for works by ex-president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in his first term, a position he held from April 2010 till May 2011. Ogiemwonyi later joined APC in 2014. Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi is a retired Group Executive director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and is the current President of Energy and Engineering Technology Consulting Group since 2011. He got his WASCE certificate in 1969, in 1974 he became a B.SC holder in Applied Physics, Post Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering in 1976, became a Doctor of Engineering Ph.D (Honoris Causa) in 2008 and also got the Doctor of Science Ph.D (Honoris Causa) in 2008.
