Luis Suarez in angry confrontation with Espanyol players following bad-tempered Barcelona derby

The Uruguayan told opponents they were a "waste of space" according to referee's report after eight Espanyol players were booked and two sent off

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez was involved in an angry confrontation with Espanyol players in the tunnel following his side's bad-tempered 4-1 Copa del Rey victory at the Nou Camp .
According to the referee's report, the former Liverpool man waited in the tunnel for the Espanyol squad, shouting: "I'm waiting for you, come here, you're a waste of space".
Referee Martinez Munuera included the incident in his post-match report after dishing out eight yellow cards and two reds to the visitors, who lost their heads in the heavy defeat.
Munuera's report confirmed that Pape Diop was dismissed for insulting Suarez's mother, which led to the angry scenes in the tunnel after the game.
“At the end of the game, once in the tunnel, Barça’s No.9, Suarez, Luis, while the Espanyol players were coming up the stairs, waited for them and shouted at them on various occasions," the report reads.

Derby: Espanyol had eight players booked and two sent off

Barca midfielder Ander Iniesta also looked to play down the scenes in the fiercely contested local derby.
"Violence is a very strong word, in games like this there's a lot of rivalry and contact," he said.
Espanyol took an surprise ninth-minute lead through Marco Asensio, only to see Lionel Messi level things up four minutes later.
The Argentine then scored an exquisite free-kick to put the home side in front, before Gerard Pique and Neymar completed the comprehensive first leg win for Luis Enrique's side.
The Barca boss was able to hand debuts to Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal , who signed from the club in the summer but were unable to feature owing to the Catalan side's ban on registering players.
