The Blues saw off the title-chasing Gunners thanks to Diego Costa's first-half strike with Fabregas instrumental delivering an impressive midfield display.
The margin of victory could have been wider had Chelsea been awarded a second-half penalty when the Spaniard was felled by Laurent Koscielny.
Referee Clattenburg declined to point to the spot, appearing to signal that he thought it was a shoulder barge.
When asked if he thought it was a penalty, Fabregas said: “In my opinion yes, but I don’t know. The referee said no, what can I do?

When asked why, he responded: "I don’t know. I’m just saying, I don’t know why, maybe a coincidence.”
Fabregas was back to something approaching his best at the Emirates and the man himself insists that he is feeling sharper and is close to his best once again.
Shaun Botterill
"I struggled for a little but I don’t know really why but the sharpness is back. I feel that under pressure I’m much more in control I’m not shaky.
"My team-mates made it always easier for me, but definitely in the last year probably I’m in the best form right now.''
