Nnamdi Kanu's Petition Against Tsoso Jonh (Justice)

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra in a recent move filed a petition against the judge presiding over his case Justice John Tsoho.

Kanu in his petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC) called for an investigation into two different rulings giving by Justice Tsoho on an application by the Department of State Services (DSS) to protect its witnesses during his trial.

The judge had in first ruling said that a secret trial would not be conducted for Kanu but following an oral application by the prosecution, the judge in a second ruling, reversed the court’s order to permit the federal government protect its witnesses at the trial.

Also, Kanu in a recent video has called for the sack of the judge.

He said: “When will he (the judge) be sacked? I want him to be sacked as a judge.”

Meanwhile, Justice Tsoho in a recent ruling at the Federal High Court disqualified himself from further hearing on the matter.

He ruled the case file on Kanu’s matter be transferred to the chief judge of the Federal High Court Ibrahim Auta.

Tsoho also said that even if the NJC takes a contrary decision, his court will not handle the matter.
