Pedro: Unable to find way past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris

Pedro: Unable to find way past Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris

Nobody outperformed Hugo Lloris or Asmir Begovic as Tottenham and Chelsea played out a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Chelsea left Diego Costa on the bench and instead started Eden Hazard up front, but the Blues were unable to claim what would have been only their second Premier League away win of the season remained elusive as Tottenham extended their unbeaten run in the competition to a club-record 13 games.
Here is how Press Association rated the players on action in north London…

TOTTENHAM

HUGO LLORIS: It needed a great save to deny Eden Hazard in the second half. 7
KYLE WALKER: Showed his pace down the right during a solid display. 6
DANNY ROSE: Not an afternoon for flying full-backs to shine. 6
TOBY ALDERWEIRELD: Rolled up his sleeves when needed. 6
JAN VERTONGHEN: Hacked down Hazard with a tackle that will infuriate Jose Mourinho. 6
ERIC DIER: Brought physicality to the Spurs midfield. 6
RYAN MASON: This London derby largely passed him by. 5
MOUSA DEMBELE: Forced to drop back as the game progressed. 6
HARRY KANE: Faded out of the game in an attritional second half. 6
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN: Full of running on this blustery afternoon. 6
SON HEUNG-MIN: Missed a sitter by heading a great cross straight at Asmir Begovic. 6
ERIK LAMELA (SUB): Failed to shine. 5
CLINTON NJIE (SUB): Late arrival, but brought energy. 6

Asmir Begovic

CHELSEA

ASMIR BEGOVIC: Produced two good saves before the break, but a spectator after that. 7
BRANISLAV IVANOVIC: Inexplicably allowed Son a free header, otherwise tidy. 6
CESAR AZPILICUETA: Little action unfolded down his flank. 6
KURT ZOUMA: Offered Chelsea presence at the back. 6
GARY CAHILL: The pick of the champions’ defenders. 7
CESC FABREGAS: Poor afternoon, giving the ball away on several occasions. 5
NEMANJA MATIC: Came into his own in the second half. 7
WILLIAN: A mixed bag from the Brazilian playmaker. 6
OSCAR: Took a cheeky dive that won a free kick. Generally quiet. 6
PEDRO: Started well but another who faded amid the second-half stalemate. 6
EDEN HAZARD: Chelsea’s false nine cannot be faulted for effort and was denied by Lloris. 7
KENEDY (SUB): Brought on to run down the clock. 5
RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK (SUB): Came on at the death. 5
