Alleged Treasury Looting: No Going Back On Jang Probe

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau has restated that the probe of his successor and now Senator Jonah Jang over treasury misappropriation remain top priority of the administration.
Governor Lalong has vowed to probe Jang’s administration
This disclosure was made by the spokesman of Lalong, Emmanuel Nanle on Sunday, January 3, stating that since the cabinet is now in place the next thing to do is to probe Jang, Daily Trust reports.
An action will certainly be adopted on the next phase of the probe stressing that with a State Executive Council (SEC) composed because of the appointment and inauguration of a cabinet, the administration will set the motion for the probe of treasury looters to recover state funds.”
Lalong’s media aide explained that the absence of a cabinet delayed the probe of Jang who the current administration accused to have lead an administration that perpetrated alleged looting of funds as well of ‘ personalizing governance’, adding that as soon a cabinet is inaugurated, the reports of various committees which raised the allegations would be tabled for approval and necessary action would be taken.
There will be a follow up on those areas the committees recommended for further action,” Nanle said.
The state governor had on several fora declared he would go after treasury looters to recovery stolen funds.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party had revealed that there are plans to immortalise the late Senator Gyang Nyam Pwajok.
Pwajok who was the governorship candidate of the PDP in the governorship election in Plateau state died of kidney disease in India recently.
