Remember
last year, there was a protest in the University of Lagos over terrible
beds, bed bug pandemic and the sorry state of the halls of residence
which gained coverage in Punch Newspaper, Linda Ikeji's blog etc. Well
the school management has commenced changing the beds in the hostel and
fumigation. While this is viewed as a commendable step in the right
direction, the fate of the students who led the protests hang in the
balance as they have been summoned to face disciplinary action for
dragging to the mud the image of the university. While these students
may face expulsion or rustication for some semesters, everyone is calm
since the management have decided to be co-operative for once.
