Warning: Contains footage some viewers may find upsetting. A gun is being held to the dictator's head
The bloody and shaken dictator is being paraded on the bonnet of a truck as a man stands above him holding a gun to his head.
It was shot in October 2011 by rebel fighter Ayman Almani on his mobile phone as the crowds gathered and cheered their success.
BBC reporter Gabriel Gatehouse tracked down Mr Almani who showed him this never seen before footage
It shows the dictator's final moments more clearly than ever, he can be seen bleeding and pleading for his life.
"Islam teaches us not to mistreat a prisoner, not to bear a grudge.
The reporter who was in Libya when Gaddafi was overthrown recently went back to the war-torn country to track down what happened to the golden gun which became a symbol of the rebel' victory.

He met with Gabriel Gatehouse who showed him the picture.
"I remember," he smiles. "I was 17 years old."
In the confusion, seeing him with the gun, other rebels thought he had killed Gaddafi and he became an accidental hero of the revoluton.

But he added that still receives death threats from Gaddafi loyalists and he wants the world to know it was not him who killed Gaddafi.
