Tottenham 3-0 Bournemouth: Harry Kane at the double as Spurs cruise - 5 things we learned

The England man scored twice, including one after just 44 seconds, before Christian Eriksen wrapped up a regulation home win

Tottenham closed the gap on table-topping Leicester with a comfortable home win over Bournemouth.
Top scorer Harry Kane set Spurs on their way after just 44 seconds before adding a second before the break.
Christian Eriksen added a third to seal an easy three points to keep the pressure on the Foxes at the top.
With seven games remaining Mauricio Pochettino's men remain five points behind.
Here are 5 things we learned:

1. Spurs will take this title race to the wire

Yes, Leicester are still five points clear Yes, Spurs have some tough games to come.
But their efficiency here suggested they will not give up on their title chance easily.

2. Bournemouth’s achievements have been massively underplayed

They weren’t great here but in the big picture they deserve huge praise.
They started this game 13 points clear of the drop zone and with Premier League football pretty much assured for next season. Not bad for the small south coast club with their 11,500-seater stadium.
Yes, they’ve had a few bob. By they have stuck by their principles and by many of the players that helped them up. Brilliant.

3. Harry Kane deserves his place in the elite bracket of prolific Premier League strikers

His 20th and 21st goals of the campaign equal his Premier League tally for last season and put him two ahead of Jamie Vardy.
They also place him alongside the likes Robbie Fowler, Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Les Ferdinand - all of whom netted 20-plus goals in consecutive seasons.

4. Dele Alli’s partnership with Kane is one that should be replicated on the international stage

AllĂ has supplied seven Premier League goals for Kane this season - the most assists from one player to another during the current campaign.
The understanding between them is impressive. Hodgson could do a lot worse than try out the partnership later this month for England.

5. Danny Rose’s place at the Euros should be assured

Scarily, Hodgson has suggested Luke Shaw could yet go to the Euros despite being injured all season.
Unfair on him and the left-backs that have performed well all season.
Rose is one of them - he deserves his place in France.
