To further react to the attacks, killings and
detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzakky, Shiites took to the
streets in Niger state today, December 16.

It would be recalled that Nigerian troops had reportedly killed a
wife and son of the Nigeria Shiite leader, Sheik Ibraheem Zakzaky, in an
overnight raid that led to the deaths of many people in Zaria, Kaduna
state. The death toll from the attack by the army on Shiites was reported to have risen to about 100.
Meanwhile, Naij.com had earlier reported that Nigerian
troops had arrested the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, a
group propagating the spread of Shiite Islam in Nigeria, El-Zakzaky,
following a raid at his Zaria residence.
