In its continued efforts to rid Nigeria of terrorist sect, Boko Haram, troops of 7 Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Sunday morning, ambushed and killed 7 Boko Haram members at Dawashi, in Borno state.
A statement released by the acting Director, Army Public Relations, Sani Usman, said the troops laid an ambush for the terrorists at their ‘suspected crossing point’.
The statement further said that “upon sighting the Boko Haram members, the troops engaged them on sight, killing 7 terrorists and recovered 1 Peugeot Station Wagon loaded with 2,010 litres of Premium Motor Spirit packed in 67 Jerri cans, uniforms, some materials and Improvised Explosive making Devices (IEDs).”
“Others items recovered include, dry cell batteries, 1 AK-47 rifle, tools and fish.”
