The actress spoke candidly about her life just days after what would have been their ninth wedding anniversary
The Dawson's Creek actress spoke candidly about her life just days after what would have been their ninth wedding anniversary.
Although she didn't specifically mention her ex husband, Katie said she has learned from all her experiences, both good and bad.
The 36-year-old actress - who divorced from Tom in 2012 after almost six years of marriage - said: "I don't regret anything that I've done.
"I've learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going."
Despite her showbiz career, the 'Ray Donovan' actress insists she still leads a "very normal" life.
She told the new issue of Ocean Drive magazine: "I have a very normal life, and I happen to work in an industry that is abnormal.
"Daily life, I take a train and cab; it's just about getting from here to there, and I don't care how I do it. I have to get there."
The Batman Begins beauty also admitted becoming a parent to daughter Suri, now nine, changed her "completely" and credits her little girl for inspiring her to work even harder.
She said: "[Motherhood] changes you completely in such amazing ways, and I think that you become who you were meant to be.
"Being a parent also is a source of inspiration to just work really hard. You want to set an example - and, you know, [your kids] are what drives you."
When it comes to her career, Katie loves to take risks.
She said: "I don't shy away from risks. I'm just interested in a lot of different things. I don't even think of it as a risk; I think of it as something exciting and new."
