Governor Lalong promised to complete all rural projects he inherited

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong said he is administration is determined to complete all rural projects he inherited to open the areas for commerce and to facilitate agricultural production. Governor Lalong stated this during this year’s cultural festival of the Mupun people of Pankshin Local Government area.
The festival was witness by dignitaries from all works of lives, including the Speaker, House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, sons and daughters of Mupun land from far and near converged at their Ancestral head quarters in Langkang for this year’s festival which annually affords them the opportunity to rekindle and preserve their cultural heritage.
Governor Simon Lalong who was represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Dayyabu Garga disclosed that the ministry of Tourism and Culture is planning to harmonized cultural festivals in the state to boost its tourism sector. Governor Lalong said his administration is determined to transform rural areas especially through completion of assisted roads to stimulate economic development. Lalong also promised to consult widely with people in rural areas on developmental issues by sustaining town hall meetings which characterized the campaign that brought him to power.
Chairman of the occasion and Speaker house of Representative Yakubu Dogara represented by member representing Kaura Constituency in Kaduna State, Hon .A. Simon encourages the people to support the Government of the day as it strategies to end the cycle of violence that the Nation has grapple with over the years. President of the Mupun Cultural Association, Nanle Gujwal said the Mupun people have continued to produce quality man power in every aspect of human endeavour Nationwide.
Others who spoke include former Governor Joshua Dariye, through Robert Taple, former Deputy Governor Ignacious Longjan, Chairman Pankshin Local Government Area Steven Jings and representative of the state in the National Assembly.
The event also featured launching of the construction of a Museum, unveiling of a DVD of Mupun traditional dance and crowing of this year’s Miss. Mupun Blessing Dayap
