There are strong indications that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
chapter in Plateau state may soon be breaking its long silence in the
state, as its leadership makes moves to rebuild the party at the state
level.
You would recall that since after the general elections conducted by
the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that led to the
transfer of power in the state to the All Progressive Congress (APC) now
led by Governor Simon Lalong, the Plateau state chapter of the PDP has
kept its silence.
REALITY roaming findings can reveal that the PDP in the state has
been having meetings with major stakeholders of the party in the state
in order to aggregate a position that will spring the state chapter back
to its lost glory after the 2015 general elections.
Explaining more on these findings through a telephone conversation,
the state PDP Chairman, Hon. Raymond Dabo, while agreeing that the party
has been engaging in serious party meetings with stakeholders, said it
was necessary, owing to the important activities scheduled in the
party’s calendar for 2016.
Hon. Dabo who sounded proud of the members of the party in the state
on the phone from Abuja today, said, “you can see that we have been
silent this long but, we shall break it soon. You can also see that
despite all that have happened, members of the PDP and its leadership in
the state have remained united, none have decamped to any other party.
“The recent rerun elections ordered by the Court of Appeal in the
state would also show you that the party is still on ground. If not for
the state government’s influence and manipulations, I am convinced that
the PDP would have won.
“For your information, the rerun election proceeded to 7pm on that
day. Ask yourself, is that normal? We shall expose more on this soon!”
You would recall that the rerun election slated for Langtang South in
Plateau State, has been postponed because, PDP has dragged INEC to the
Federal High Court in Jos, the capital of Plateau state, challenging the
umpire body of moves to exclude the party and its candidate from
contesting.
