Wike says PDP has taken Rivers to the ‘promised land’

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has charged the people of the state to make sure that the All Progressives Congress does not return take back control of the state in the forthcoming rerun election slated for Saturday, March 19.
Speaking on Wednesday, at the commissioning of the reconstructed Nkpogu Bridge/Road and Ground Breaking for Phase 2, the governor told the people of the state to be at alert and ensure that the election is free and fair.
Wike charged the people to ensure that no APC candidate is voted into office, noting that the aim of the party is to hinder the progress of the state.

He further urged them to be courageous and vote for the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, to ensure development continues in Rivers state.
He said: “There is no need to allow the APC to come back to the state. If you allow them to come back, they will scuttle development projects for our people.”
“We are children of light. We are in the promised land and we cannot return to the days of darkness represented by the APC.”
He further said: “We must protect our votes to reclaim our mandate. This is our opportunity to tell Nigerians once again that this is a PDP state.”
